EMPN Implementation Cohort Program – Streamlining Public EV Charging (Fall 2025)

Municipalities across British Columbia are receiving requests from electric vehicle (EV) charging proponents or developers who want to build public EV charging stations. Yet, many local governments do not have a consistent, clear process to guide their response to these requests. As a response to this need, and building from the recently published Local Government Toolkit (Dunsky), CEA will be hosting an Implementation Cohort on this topic. This program offers structured and facilitated learning sessions to support:

  • coordinated & accelerated adoption of streamlined permitting,
  • building shared understanding of the implementation pathways, and
  • providing tangible outcomes to support future adoption of this public EV charging (this may include co-creating shared materials).

Through participation in this program you will receive direct access and coaching over 3-4 cohort sessions and opportunities for 1-1 coaching as needed. This program is being offered – at no cost – to members of the Electric Mobility Peer Network (EMPN) who have direction to pursue strategies to implement streamlined public EV charging on public land processes in their communities. This program is expected to start in November 2025.

Learning modules and content are in development, you can expect to complete some work outside of the sessions. Learn more and complete the expression of interest here by Monday, October 6, 2025.
