EMPN Quarterly (Feb 10, 2026)

Theme: Navigating change together through shared learning, mutual support, and collective problem-solving.

Meeting Objectives:

  • Build a shared understanding of EV charging vendor stability and support peer learning on how communities can navigate market changes, manage risk, and make informed decisions when planning or updating EV charging contracts.
  • Surface member needs and strengths to inform future EMPN programming and peer support.
  • Increase sharing of the latest knowledge on electric mobility across British Columbia.
  • Build professional connections and relationships while providing a supportive and positive climate community.
  • Market insights and peer dialogue on EV charging vendor stability. Members heard from the Canadian Charging Infrastructure Council on emerging trends in the EV charging market, followed by a peer discussion on managing vendor risk, contract considerations, and long-term planning amid industry changes.
  • Provincial update from BC’s Clean Transportation Branch. A fireside chat provided insight into provincial clean transportation priorities. Later in the week, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Solutions (MECS) circulated an Engagement Paper proposing changes to legislated sales targets in the BC ZEV Act.
  • District of North Vancouver: E-Bike Cargo Share Pilot lessons learned. North Vancouver shared practical insights from their pilot, including implementation considerations, community response, and key lessons for other communities exploring similar programs.

Supporting communities in accelerating the transition to electric mobility to reduce transportation emissions and maximize community well-being.
