Theme:

This Micromobility deep dive meeting aims to identify opportunities that will increase the uptake or use of micromobility (including active and electric) transportation options in your community.

Meeting Objectives:

  • Move collectively towards discovering possible solution pathways that can work for a range of community types.
  • Build professional connections and relationships while providing a supportive and positive climate community.
  • Surface ideas to mobilize this work and align on next steps.
  • Growing Community Leadership & Strategic Momentum: The City of Penticton are developing a micromobility strategy set to roll out in Spring 2026. There is continued desire to demonstrate leadership by prioritizing safe, connected active transportation pathways and explore electrified micro-mobility options that are better integrated with public transit.
  • There is strong commitment to accessibility and though public design: Communities are proactively naming the importance of accessibility in RightofWay planning, signaling a commitment to inclusive micromobility systems.
  • Infrastructure gaps limit progress: Rural and small-town communities rely on provincial highways as their only viable mobility corridors—particularly important for emobility connector pathways. This is an ongoing discussion at the provincial level. Advocacy from groups like the BC Cycling Coalition are supporting new regulations around corridor usage.

Supporting communities in accelerating the transition to electric mobility to reduce transportation emissions and maximize community well-being.
