The aggregation service enables local governments to pool BC Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) carbon credits, receiving a proportionate share of the revenues earned when CEA facilitates a sale of the credits. Why sell carbon credits? It’s an easy way to recoup the cost of providing electricity to the charging stations, and perhaps even more. By pooling credits through CEA’s aggregation service, you gain market leverage with higher volume sales, leading to better prices for all participants. And for communities small and large, CEA’s aggregation service reduces administrative burden and makes it possible to tender sales faster.
The idea for this aggregation service emerged from the BC Local Government Electric Mobility Peer Network and we appreciate your continued enthusiasm for the project.
Thank you to Metro Vancouver, the Capital Regional District, and the City of Abbotsford for supporting the development of the Carbon Credit Aggregation Service.
